OZ CHILADOZ
Oz ChiladOz is an Australian-based company specialising in authentic Mexican chilli candies. It aims to offer a unique and adventurous combination of spicy and sweet flavours, introducing these distinctive candies to the Australian market, which is perceived as being bored with the current snack options. The brand seeks to bring a new era of spicy and sweet candies to adventurous chilli lovers.
The challenge
The challenge for Oz ChiladOz is to differentiate itself in a market that may be unfamiliar with Mexican chilli candies. The goal is to stand out by providing an authentic, unique product that offers new flavour experiences, particularly in a market where traditional snack options are dominant.
OUTCOME
We developed a full brand strategy and a plan for scaling, including an ideal client persona profile, brand attributes definition and messaging. The brand strategy was translated into a visual identity (logo design, colours, typography). Through a well-defined brand strategy and creative direction, Oz ChiladOz seeks to achieve a strong market position and a loyal customer base.

Lucy from Oz ChiladOz contacted The Brand Mixologist looking to create a brand identity. Victoria, the founder of The Brand Mixologist worked on the project since the starting phase, the brand strategy, defining their mission, vision, core values and visual identity design.

Brand discovery
The Brand Mixologist focused on discovering Sugarlicious’s ideal target customer and analysing their competitors. The customer journey is an extremely important process for any brand, as this is where we identify where the ideal customers hang out, what attracts them and how we can steer them towards purchasing the beverage products. Once the ideal customer and their journey were established, we turned to Sugarlicious’s brand attributes, particularly as they translate into visuals (logo design, colour selecting, font styles, etc.), as well as wrap-around messaging, content and website design.

The Brand Mixologist focused on identifying Oz ChiladOz’s ideal target customer and assessing the competitive landscape. Understanding the customer journey is vital for the brand, as it reveals where potential customers are active, what captures their attention, and how to guide them toward purchasing the unique chilli candies. With a clear understanding of the ideal customer and their journey, we shifted our focus to Oz ChiladOz’s brand attributes, especially how these are reflected visually—through logo design, colour palettes, font choices, and other elements. We also developed comprehensive messaging strategies, engaging content, and a dynamic website design to embody the brand’s adventurous and bold personality, ensuring a cohesive brand presence across all platforms.

The brand strategy for Oz ChiladOz was translated into a distinct visual identity, including logo design, colours, fonts, and imagery. The aim was to craft a visual identity that is memorable, bold, and appealing to adventurous chilli candy lovers. We analysed the target demographic to align the visual elements, such as a vibrant and spicy colour palette, with the brand’s bold and playful personality. As Oz ChiladOz sought to establish itself as a leader in the market for unique chilli candies, we developed a new visual language that fully represents the brand’s essence, moving away from any pre-existing visuals to create a fresh and engaging brand presence that resonates with its target audience.
