Sugarlicious, an online cake shop brand based in Australia, embodies a commitment to delivering delectable treats that exceed expectations. The challenge
Sugarlicious required the development of a distinct brand identity to have a cohesive look and boost orders, sales, and brand recognition. They sought consistent visuals that captured their essence and appealed to their audience, turning to The Brand Mixologist for strategic guidance and expert designs to elevate their business.
OUTCOME
We developed a full brand strategy and a long-term plan for scaling, including an ideal client persona profile, brand attributes definition and messaging. The brand strategy was translated into a visual identity (logo design, colours, typography) and packaging (labels). The Brand Mixologist also designed and developed a new professional and cohesive website.

Sugarlicious contacted The Brand Mixologist looking to create a brand identity. Victoria, the founder of The Brand Mixologist worked on the project since the starting phase, the brand strategy, defining their mission, vision and core values.

Brand discovery
The Brand Mixologist played a key role in developing Sugarlicious’s brand messaging by first diving deep into understanding the core values and unique qualities of the brand. We crafted a messaging strategy that captures Sugarlicious’s playful and delightful essence, ensuring it resonates with their target audience. This involved creating a consistent and engaging tone of voice that reflects the brand’s personality, emphasizing what makes Sugarlicious stand out. We then translated this messaging into various touchpoints, including website content, social media posts, and promotional materials, to ensure a unified and compelling brand presence that effectively connects with customers and enhances their overall experience.
MESSAGING
The Brand Mixologist focused on discovering Sugarlicious’s ideal target customer and analysing their competitors. The customer journey is an extremely important process for any brand, as this is where we identify where the ideal customers hang out, what attracts them and how we can steer them towards purchasing the beverage products. Once the ideal customer and their journey were established, we turned to Sugarlicious’s brand attributes, particularly as they translate into visuals (logo design, colour selecting, font styles, etc.), as well as wrap-around messaging, content and website design.
BRAND IDENTITY
The Brand Mixologist assisted Sugarlicious in developing their visual identity by first capturing the essence of the brand through strategic design elements. We began by understanding Sugarlicious’s personality, values, and target audience to ensure the visual identity truly reflects their unique character. This process included designing a distinctive logo that embodies the brand’s playful and high-quality image. We then selected a bold colour palette and typography that convey the brand’s cheerful and fun nature. Additionally, we created visual guidelines to ensure consistency across all touchpoints, from future packaging to the website, resulting in a cohesive and eye-catching brand presence that effectively engages and attracts customers.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Having all touchpoint on brand will help Sugarlicious attracting the right customers and keep the brand cohesive would also increase brand loyalty. That is why at The Brand Mixologist we have created a pack of custom social media posts, covers and highlight stories icons to stand out and keep the brand cohesive.
We considered other additional collateral items for Sugarlicious such as gift cards, thank you cards and insert flyers, to improve brand awareness and a better unpacking experience.
WEBSITE DESIGN
The final phase of The Brand Mixologist’s process was designing and developing Sugarlicious’s website. We gathered all the essential information about the cake shop’s brand and goals, then created a website tailored to drive higher orders and sales, contributing to the growth of their business. The development was built upon the previously established design and layout, utilizing the WordPress platform along with the WooCommerce plugin to provide a seamless e-commerce experience. This approach ensured a user-friendly interface and a visually appealing site that aligns with Sugarlicious’s brand identity and objectives.
